Peanut is nocturnal...2nd appt

Everyone keeps asking, "have you felt the baby move?" to which, me not knowing what to feel has said no. I have heard that it is a fluttering feeling at first, but still didn't know what that meant. Well, it's about 4:20am here and I can feel it. It almost tickles. So I think there has been prior movement, I just slept through it.Why am I awake at 4am you ask? Oh that would be my joys of pregnancy. My back is sore, can't get comfortable, which the Dr says is because of sciatica (I don't know if I spelled that right) but it has to do with the baby laying on the siatic nerve. I guess it usually happens later on, but lucky me, I have it now. She referred me to PT so I can learn some stretching exercises to help it. It also causes a charlie horse feeling in my right butt cheek, which is not pleasurable either. The appointment went well, I heard the heartbeat, which she said is good and strong. I am gaining as they want me to. Blood pressure is good too. I will meet with her one more time and then we schedule the big ultrasound.I will keep you updated if anything exciting happens! Thanks for reading!

1st Dr. Appt

Well, today was our first dr's appointment, we met with Dr. Johangten (pronounced Johansen) and she did all the regular checks, weight, blood pressure, and then the ultrasound. She did this to confirm the due date of June 17th. The baby measured at 4.7 mm, which is just right for the due date.

The ultrasound was truly a humbling experience. To see this little life moving around like crazy, when I can't feel him/her myself. Both Brian and I got kinda teary-eyed. WOW! There really is a baby in there! She called the baby "Peanut" and it is kinda sticking.

We got three ultrasound pictures and it is so amazing, at 12 weeks you can already see so much, feet, hands, head, it's all there, and moving around.

I am uploading the ultrasound pic so that those who are far away and weren't here for Thanksgiving that we didn't get to brag to can see it. I hope that this site allows us to share this amazing experience with you even though miles separate us.

Love,

Mommy Christi
